The Room 308 “Classics”

The great Christoph Villibard Gluk worked in Milan, Vienna, and Paris. The opera reform of Gluk, carried out in a channel of aesthetics classicism — the noble simplicity, heroic spirit, — reflected the new tendencies in art at the Age of Enlightenment. The idea of submission of music rendered the laws of poetry and drama had a large influence on musical theatre of 19^th and 20^th centuries.

Gluk left in a heritage to his descendants more than 40 operas, among which really great creations: “Orpheus and Evredika”, “Altsesta”, “Paris and Helen”, “Iphigenia in Avlide”, “Armida”, “Iphigenia is in Tavrida”.
