The Room 307 “Wedding”Many nations have unique wedding traditions, which are carefully kept and are transferred from generation to generation. In Bulgaria, when the bride and bridegroom leave a holiday, instead of rice or wheat they are sprinkled with fruits of fig trees. In some village areas of Greece wedding bed is prepared by the special way: according to the tradition, at first small children should run on bed to bring abundance in a new family. The Hungarians have the “dance of money”: the bride puts her shoes in the middle of a room and those who would like to dance with her should put some coins in her shoes. In India, to avert evil, any male member of family (usual the brother of the groom) upon termination of ceremony strews over with the groom and bride by petals of flowers. In China during wedding ceremony the bride and groom drink wine and honey from a bowl bond together by a red tape — the red colour symbolizes love and pleasure. In France the married couple on reception in their honour should have a drink wine from a bowl with two handles, which is named a coupe de marriage. In Scotland the groom to accept the bride in the family, after pronouncing oaths covers her shoulders a shawl from a checkered fabric with colours of his clan and pins up it by a silver pins. In Japan the bride and groom drink nine gulp of sake (rice vodka) drink. It is considered, that after the first drink they officially become the husband and wife. |
