The French painter and draughtsman Nikola Pussen trained by at К.Veren and other French artists. Since 1624 he lived in Rome, where Carachi, Domenikino, Raphael, Titsian had influenced on creativity of the foreman. Pussen also devoted a lot of time to study of the treatises of Leonardo Da Vinchi and Durer, sketched and measured antique statues and was engaged in anatomy and mathematics.

Since 1620s Pussen created pictures of high civil sounding which had put and formed the foundation of classicism in the European painting, poetic compositions on mythological and literary themes marked with the system of images, emotionality of intensive, softly harmonized colouring. Applying to plots of an antique history, assimilating bible and gospel characters to the heroes of a classical antiquity, the artist achieved completeness of figurative sounding clear harmony of the whole.
