The Room 202 “Modernist style”

Alfonse Mukha the Czech artist, one of the founders of style of Modern lived and worked mainly in Prague. He appeared as a graphic artist, painter, and a master of decorative — applied art and as the theatrical artist. An image of elegant beautiful woman “in style of Mukha”, personifying spirit sensual of luxury comes through all his creativity.

The posters, the creation of which Alfonse Mukha was engaged in 1895-1905, had put forward the Czech artist in number of the leaders of the world Modern — style which had been arisen under influence of industrial progress and aesthetics of symbolism. Alfonse Mukha became very famous even at life, at the end of XIX century his works were exhibited in all basic capitals of Europe and in the USA. After declaration of the in republic 1918 of, manufacturing the first Czechoslovak post marks, money marks and State Emblem was entrusted to Mukha.
